If you go to Google Webmaster Tools and enter your URL you can see if your site is indexed.
Alternatively by using the “site:” command in Google go to the Google homepage and type in “site:yourdomainname” and Google will return the pages in its index.
Be aware when you do this that it may only return a few to the main page and you either, need to look in the top left of the page to see how many pages out of the total it is showing or, click on the link for it to show more. As long as your pages are there you are indexed.
This is a bit more difficult. Go to the Yahoo homepage at http://uk.yahoo.com. Then type in your company name and do a search. When the results come up select the “Advanced Search” option and in the “all of these words” box type in a word you know is on as many pages of your site as you can.
Remember good site optimisation should include your company name on every page in non graphical format
Also in the “only search in this domain” box type in your site’s URL. Then hit the search button. If your pages show that is great. If they do not, then worry because you are not indexed.
