All the Search Engines are talking more and more about personalised searching as their goal is to give you the most useful response to your queries.
To do this they need to know as much about you as they can and to do that they need your personal profile.
This is why Google are offering all sorts of free service such as Google Calendar & Docs and Spreadsheets because as part of its terms you allow them to monitor what you do and type from which they can then develop your profile.
Take a look at iGoogle the new personalised homepage from Google and also look at Google desktop, being loaded on some new PC’s automatically, well they sort of ask first!
Microsoft have a massive wealth of information from Hotmail users and when we start seeing Microsoft offering its software online it will be up to the same tricks.
As of 01/02/2008 that appears to have been answered by the $44billion bid from Microsoft.
