SEO is all about being found on the internet and being found is all about being indexed.
Being indexed is therefore the most important thing for your web site, assuming you want visitors.
Search engines will only index pages that are written in correct HTML or XHTML because that’s what they’re designed to read.
They also cannot navigating through pages that use drop down menus as they cannot click a mouse to follow the links.
In addition they do not understand the code in sites using Macromedia|Adobe Flash.
As a result pages that are not in good HTML or XHTML code will suffer when being indexed.
And that’s not all, you also need to focus on making your content relevant to your visitors.
Don’t fall into the trap of cramming your text with keywords just because you think the spiders will give you extra points. They won’t!
What they want to see is relevance as that is why people continue to use their search.
