Viralweb is owned by Alex Watt B.A. [Hons] M.Sc. M.A. MBCS ACIPR a Senior Lecturer in Liverpool Business School at John Moores University.
For my sins I’m a member of the British Computer Society and have a B.A.[Hons] Business Studies [1986], an M.Sc. Computing & Information Systems [2000] and an M.A. in Learning & Teaching in Higher Education [2006].
Glutton for punishment that I am I’m also part way through a Diploma in Public Relations at Manchester Metropolitan University, specialist subject Online PR. Now there’s a surprise!
I’ve not always been an academic, indeed I’ve spent more time in industry.
To keep up to date for students and to be able to feedback into teaching it’s good to stay up to speed with new web technologies, so it’s helpful to be active in the commercial world.
In addition it gives students the opportunity, particularly in the areas of Accessibility and Usability testing, to actually test sites for clients for which the business objectives and the technical details are known.
The web is an interesting place and only by being involved in new areas can I keep pace with the changes. As such I am always actively researching into various web fields. If you can help me or have an area you would like me to investigate, please contact me.
